About the Brewery

Hakuyou Brewery is located in Shirakawa, the heart of Fukushima. With only a three-person team, Owner Hiroo Ohya, and two “Brew Master” brothers, Hakuyou is among Japan’s smallest sake breweries. Within the aging Pre-Meiji structure continues a century-old tradition of brewing excellence where the focus is on creating beautiful, stylistically diverse Sake…. one thoughtful batch at a time.

The brewery actively partners with local farmers.

Hakuyou not only partners with local farmers to purchase rice for their Sakes, but they also assist with multiple elements of the farming with each of their partners.
